Rhiwbina Squash & Racketball Club

Rhiwbina RFC have been a part of Rhiwbina Recreation Club for over 50 years and have, and are an integral part of the local community.

Following a recent expansion, Rhiwbina Squash & Racketball Club now has 4 courts on site, with 2 of those courts being glass backed and housing a spectator area for up to 150 people. Since the expansion the membership of the Squash Club has risen extensively, with the courts regularly used throughout the week and weekend.

There are currently 8 teams competing at all levels of the South Wales Squash League and following a recent promotion by the B team, the club now has 2 teams in the Premier League. The club is also proud to have current Welsh number 1 and world top 70 ranked Squash player Peter Creed as an integral part of the club, and indeed the A team set up.

The expansion has also meant Rhiwbina Squash Club has been able to attract top pro tournaments to the club. February 2016 saw a Masters Open tournament being held at the club, with competitors of all age groups travelling from all over the UK to take part in what was a successful 3 day tournament.

From 23-28 May 2017 Rhiwbina Squash Club has been chosen to host Wales’ first PSA ranking event in many years, The PSA Welsh Open, a world ranking event with a total prize fund of $10,000, the hope within the club is that this event will be a huge success for both Rhiwbina Squash Club and Welsh Squash in general.

Coaching within the club is available at all levels and age groups, plus the club is at the forefront of promoting Squash for our disabled members.
